
Also this past week our turkeys started laying! A little early and very poorly timed considering the frigid weather as of late, but we're excited. Hopefully we can hatch out some poults and may have some available to sell in a month or so, if someone is only interested in a few. They are pure bred Narragansett Turkeys, and can take up to 28 weeks to reach butcher weight, so it's probably a good things the hens decided to lay a little early.
If all goes well this year we will have birds ready to sell by Thanksgiving. We are still debating on what to price them at, as I've seen free-range Narragansetts go as much as $11/lbs! Don't worry though, we want our prices to be affordable.
