I have kept Toonie and Niles on the All-Stock feed, because until I breed Toonie that should be sufficient with all the apples we feed them, plus what ever table scraps we have (meat free of course). We had been feeding them apples from the two apple trees we have growing in the field, but the trees are pretty much out of apples now. So, Jeff and I went to Banker's Orchard last week with the dump truck and we bought a bin of animal apples for $50... now we just have to figure out how to store them.
Back at our house Jeff finished the expanded chicken run yesterday! woohoo! So now all of the chickens are being housed together (I will post pics latter this week) and just the ducks are still separate... Speaking of the ducks... They have to go! They are soooooooo messy I really don't want to deal with them this winter, so guess what I am eating for Thanksgiving this year ;) My neighbor Tom use to be a farmer and he said he could help me butcher them, but I am trying to find a local professional slaughter house to do it. I can gut and clean an animal but the actual killing part makes me a little nervous. I will be posting either pics or a video if I end up doing it at home, I will put a warning though so those that don't want to see don't have to.
