Meet the Peate Family
Kayla and Jeff met through a mutual acquaintance of theirs, her Mother. At the time, Kayla's Mom feared that Kayla might be gay or depressed or just a hermit, because at the age of eighteen she had yet to even go on a single date with a guy.... or girl for that matter. So, when the young man she cleaned houses for said he had an extra ticket to a Globe Trotters game and needed someone to go with, Kayla's mother volunteered her. They hit it off, their ambitions and goals are very similar; they both want to one day work for themselves, both of them love animals, and they both love the idea of living on a farm. So, because Kayla was told that when you meet someone with similar goals, ideals, and ambitions you marry them; that is exactly what she did.
Jeff and Kayla were married on October 4th of 2008, and sense then they have impulsively purchased a wide variety of farm animals. While Kayla knows many things about dogs, cats, raccoons, skunks, foxes, wolves, mice, and even bats, what Kayla and Jeff knew about farm animals prior to the purchase of theirs would not have even filled a college ruled sheet of note paper. When they purchased their first batch of chicks they where planning on keeping all the animals in their backyard on less then a 1/4 of an acre plot, but they have since set up pens for the larger animal behind Kayla's father's house on the 14 acres her family owns. They are now in the process of moving their farm to the Western NY - Northeastern PA area.
